"A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder."

Thomas Carlyle

Reflection:I find this quote rather intriguing to be completely honest. It's quite true what Carlyle was comparing between the man and the boat. When left without the slightest clue of what you'd like to accomplish in life you really just have no  destined location.Without a destined location or knowing where you want to be in life you your left to do nothing. Therefore, leaving nothing to getting accomplished.

"I would prefer to fail with honor than win by cheating."

Sophocles

Reflection:If only there were still people like this how better the world would ultimately be.I can agree with this quote on some accounts, but not as strongly and truthfully as Sophocles. If I were to be in a race and not win because the other person cheated I'd feel absolutely angry. If it were the other way around with me as the cheater,I'd probably be upset with myself because I didn't win because I was better and it proves that in a fair race I would've lost. That would possibly be one of the most horrid case scenarios I can think of.

Memorial Day

  1. Memorial day is a US holiday.
  2. The custom of honoring ancestors by cleaning cemeteries and decorating graves is an ancient and worldwide tradition, but the specific origin of Memorial Day, or Decoration Day as it was first known, are unclear.
  3. Memorial day is Monday,May 25.
  4. You could show honor and respect for Memorial Day by participating in charities for the families that have lost their loved ones as a result of their time in the military.
  5. Memorial Day is is kind of associated with Veteran's Day which is pretty interesting. Both are holidays that honor those who have served the U.S., and it is very endearing to see that these people who have sacrificed so much are being given recognition.
  6. Well,my family and I will probably BBQ and  I guess that's about it.

Student Success Statement
"The most
important thing
 you will ever have
 is good values."

Reflection:I think that it's really good to have a set of values.I think that this is definitely something that is true. Without good values, you can watch as your life quickly falls apart. Good habits and good morale lead to a more accomplished life, whereas bad values, and no morale can lead to being unproductive or even becoming someone who loses their life early on because they fell into a bad path. I've often said that I will never feel the need to take drugs or do alcohol because I've learned from other people just how catastrophic taking that dark path may become. I want to be someone that my parents brag about later on in life and that they still think about with rose-colored glasses on their deathbeds.

Optician

Duties and Responsibilities:The purpose of an optician is to help fit eyeglasses and contact lenses for customers based on prescriptions from ophthalmologists or optometrists. They also help you choose the type of glasses or contacts to buy.

Salary: The salary of an optician is approximately $33,330 yearly, or $16.03 hourly.

Education: Opticians usually have a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as some on-the-job training and possibly an associate's degree from a community college. Licensure is also required in some states
.

Reflection: I think that if I wanted to work in the eye industry, I would aspire to become an optometrist, not an optician. I think that the pay for becoming an optician is fairly good for someone living on their own, but if I were to want to get married and have children, I would want to make more money. I want a higher wage so that my kids can not only have enough food to grow up healthy, but so that I can provide money needed when they want to join a sport, or go on a camping trip. I want to be financially capable of giving my children the easiest life possible. Even if I had a husband to manage my financial status, I would still like to feel self-dependent when it comes to handling myself or my family.

Reflection:Well then why to rug dealers seem to be living it way better than we are?How about all those people who gamble and all the money they have?I know of a lot of things that are incredibly wrong, yet they still live the high life.Yea,it's not an honest life nor is it a safe life, but they get through. All I'm saying is that there  are many different ways of attaining success, some more harder than others though,so to speak.

The Nicest Man Ever

Patrick Morgan,Florida airport custodian found an ipad while cleaning, nice catch right? But not only did he find an ipad, but within the ipad there seemed to be 3000 dollars stashed away. Now as you read this you think to yourself,"Hmmm..an ipad and $3,000?I'd keep it."Not Patrick Morgan though. He figured that he better return it to it's rightful owner, but not only did he return it and get payed by the owner a $60 dollar reward, but he also gave away the $60 dollars to a homeless woman and a co-worker.An amazing man indeed! For his great acts of kindness he was rewarded $600 by his boss and acknowledge for what he had done.I believe that when it comes to something like this not a lot of people can give up money as easily as he did.i mean it's not an easy thing,it's actually quite hard, but Patrick Morgan did it and we acknowledge him for it,keep it  up Patrick!

Reflection:There are no words in existence to describe how disgusted this quote makes me feel.Absolutely horrified and repulsed by this type of quote.I am more than sick and tired of hearing the same bs fly around and taint the ears of generations to come. For godsake put a dang sock in it and stop acting all self-righteous and let people think for themselves on how they feel.I don't care if you live in some glorified, sanctified life, you keep that to yourself and let others carve their own roads.Doing the right thing doesn't make you feel better about yourself,it doesn't stop world hunger,it doesn't cure depression,it doesn't make up for the fact that someday we're all going to die and be thrown to the gutter forever forgotten. That's just my opinion though.

Forgiveness
Eric Smallridge was a convict serving 20 in jail. Why?For a DUI (drinking under influence) a killing to 20 year old girls,Megan and Lisa. One day in jail though,he was informed that his time was shortened by half of what it was.Eric was in complete shock as to why he was getting less time after he found out Megan;s mother had asked the judge to lessen his serve time because she had forgave him.Eventually Lisa's mother forgave him as well and now both Eric and Renee (Megan's mother) travel to various schools and speak about the dangers and consequences or drinking while driving.
Forgiving Eric was a real big thing for Renee to do and hard as well. It's not something that is easily done, but because of this she now feels better and so does Eric.A step to forgiveness can make a BIG difference in everything.

Reflection:When we are..offended and exploited I suppose..we tend to become very hostile and untrusting towards others. It's not that we personally know the person or have spite towards them,it's just the fact that it's not easy to trust again after someone hurts you. What is going to constantly plague your mind depending on who you are,is meeting people and having them do the same thing someone else did to you. It's not as easy to forgive than it is to bold hate against someone,I know, but you can't spend your whole life holding someones actions against them

"Dare to stand alone."

Thomas S.Monson

Reflection:I really like this quote by Thomas Monson.I mean what it means to me is we don't really need anyone for support or to act as a crutch to lean on.It is ok to be by yourself and do things by yourself. We don't need friends to tell us who we are, what to be,and how to act. It's better to be alone than surrounded o fa room of people who make you feel alone.I think less people is just less distractions and that's just fine by me in all honesty.

Evolution

The process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the Earth.

Though the topic of evolution and how it exactly works is a controversial one,we all know that most of the living organisms of today look similar to those of the past.

As you can see from the top picture,it depicts a  sort of  tree showing that the Proailurus (first cat) evolved into a Pseudaelurus, who then branched out to be Sabertooths and modern conical cats.

Image result for proailurusImage result for pseudaelurusImage result for evolution sabertooth tiger

From this you can see how they have changed in shape, color, and size over time which it does look like a bit of a difference. Now when it comes to evolution there is this thing I like to call The Conflict Theory. You see, many people believe that we evolved from monkeys, though religion says otherwise.Others assume that we came from fish and the remaining few think we've always been this way just that we're more civilized now.

Though I believe that the fish theory is a bit far fetched I do believe the monkey theory is partially true seeing there IS evidence to prove so.
Image result for monkeys and humans opposable thumbsImage result for monkeys and humans opposable thumbs
One of the many pieces of evidence is opposable thumbs.Plus, monkeys aren't that far in intellectual capability than we are. It's is quite a fascinating topic to go in depth with indeed.
